Sterling Silver Pink CZ Crab Brooch, Black Rhodium

This sculptural crab brooch is crafted in hallmarked sterling silver, with a black rhodium finish and individually hand-set pink cubic zirconia. Its claws, legs and shell segments are carefully modelled to create a detailed marine form, while the deep gunmetal finish provides contrast with the pink pavé-set stones. A high polish finish and secure brooch pin fastening complete the piece.

The brooch belongs to Studio Variations, a collection of finished jewellery designs retained within the studio archive after proving too expensive for commercial production. Developed following the success of earlier sea-life costume jewellery collections, this series was created in sterling silver with black rhodium plating and hand-set cubic zirconia. Rather than reduce the quality, remove stones or simplify the designs, the collection was left as originally intended. Only a handful were produced.

The crab has long been associated with resilience, protection, quiet strength, adaptability and coastal life. This contemporary marine brooch may be worn on a jacket, scarf or knitwear, or displayed within a jewellery collection. It is in excellent archive condition.
