This sterling silver crab brooch is part of Studio Variations, a series of finished jewellery designs retained within the studio archive after exceeding the intended commercial price point. Only a handful were produced.

The sculptural crab form is hallmarked sterling silver, with each claw, leg and shell segment modelled in detail. Hundreds of pink cubic zirconia stones are individually hand-set across the shell and articulated legs, following the natural contours of the design. A black rhodium finish creates contrast with the pink stones, while a high-polish finish preserves the sculptural surface.

Developed after earlier sea-life costume jewellery collections, this piece was created in sterling silver without reducing stones or simplifying the design. It has a secure brooch pin fastening and may be worn on a jacket, scarf or knitwear. The brooch is described as being in excellent archive condition.
