This sculptural candle holder is made from Taxco Sterling Silver 925 and was created during an early formative period of working alongside master silversmiths in Taxco, Mexico. Its organic, hand-shaped form functions as both a candle holder and a sculptural display object.
Inspired by the silversmithing traditions of Taxco, the piece is described as an interpretation rather than a replication of traditional forms: an English designer translating the ethos of Mexican silversmithing into a personal design language. It reflects an exploration of material, form and influence, where traditional techniques informed an evolving approach.
Drawn from The JewelAri Compendium, it forms part of The Curator’s Cabinet, a group of objects from the earliest periods of making and collecting. It is suitable for interior styling, display or a curated personal collection. The holder shows signs of age, travel and handling consistent with its history; these marks are presented as evidence of movement, handling and time. It is presented not as a polished outcome, but as a point of origin where material, place and perspective first aligned: an original fragment of a 50-year legacy in silver.
