This sculptural candle holder is made from Taxco Sterling Silver 925 and is inspired by the silversmithing traditions of Taxco, Mexico. Its organic, hand-shaped form allows it to sit between a functional candle holder and a sculptural display object.

Created during a formative period of working alongside master silversmiths in Taxco, the piece records an exploration of material, form and influence. Traditional techniques informed an evolving design language, not as a replication of established Taxco forms, but as an English designer’s personal interpretation of Mexican silversmithing.

Drawn from The JewelAri Compendium, it forms part of The Curator’s Cabinet, bringing together objects from the earliest periods of making and collecting, where influence and material first converge. It is suited to interior styling, display and curated personal collections, as well as those drawn to design history and early-stage creative work.

The holder shows signs of age, travel and handling consistent with its history. These marks remain as evidence of movement, use and time.
