Autumn Dancer is an Art Deco bronze statuette from the Baranite Cameo Collection of Art Decoratif Sculptures. Produced by Baranite Ltd. of Baldock, Hertfordshire, it is listed as ADM4 and was made in England.

The figure is designed after the work of Johann Philipp Ferdinand (Fritz) Preiss. Its elongated limbs, flowing drapery and poised, mid-performance stance reflect the glamour and theatricality associated with decorative sculpture between the two World Wars. The bronze was individually hand chased and cold painted by British craftsmen, with hand-painted highlights. It is mounted on a polished display plinth.

Baranite’s Cameo range was created to make small-scale Art Deco sculpture available to a wider audience. Original Baranite literature described works inspired by sculptors exhibited at the Paris Salons; contemporary articles from 1989 recorded the collection’s presence in homes and collectors’ cabinets across Britain.
