This sterling silver dolphin ring is an archive sample from the Studio Variations Collection. A jubilant dolphin spirals around the finger, its sculptural form covered with hundreds of individually hand-set pink cubic zirconia beneath black rhodium plating and finish. The flowing composition favours movement over symmetry, revealing the design from changing angles.

The series followed the commercial success of earlier sea-life costume jewellery collections and was developed as a new sterling silver range. It was originally designed for a luxury retail programme that did not reach production. The pieces exceeded the client’s target retail price; rather than remove stones, simplify the designs or reduce quality, the collection was left as intended. Only a handful were produced.

This hallmarked sterling silver ring is in excellent condition. It is offered in one size only: UK size P / USA size 7 3/4. The dolphin design forms part of Studio Variations, a collection of archive ideas that reached completion before commerce altered them.
