This sterling silver shell brooch is a sculptural marine-inspired design from the Studio Variations collection. Hallmarked sterling silver forms the shell, where polished silver ribbons sweep across its surface and frame green cubic zirconia. Each stone is individually hand-set to follow the natural curves of the design, while a black rhodium finish provides contrast and definition.

The brooch has a high polish finish and a secure brooch pin fastening. It was developed as a precious-material interpretation of earlier sea-life costume jewellery collections, using sterling silver, black rhodium and hand-set cubic zirconia. The finished collection exceeded the client’s target retail price and was retained within the studio archive rather than simplified or redesigned.

Studio Variations brings together finished jewellery designs preserved in that archive after proving too expensive for commercial production. This piece remains as originally created, with its shell motif, green pavé-set stones and black rhodium detailing. It is offered in excellent archive condition.
