This vintage Taxco sterling silver apple pendant is an opening keepsake container, suspended from an included 24-inch sterling silver chain. Made in Taxco, Mexico, it has a soft brushed silver finish and a rounded apple silhouette. Its concealed compartment can hold a written note, perfume, ash or memorial fragments, tiny keepsakes, personal tokens or hidden memories.
Presented as the larger version of the archive apple pendant, the form has greater presence than the smaller version, with a more sculptural and substantial character. The apple has appeared in mythology, art and storytelling as a symbol of love, memory, temptation, hidden knowledge, beginnings and transformation. Here, the opening interior gives those associations a private, tactile expression.
The pendant forms part of The Curator’s Cabinet, drawn from The JewelAri Compendium. Described as vintage Taxco silverwork, it reflects sculptural simplicity, hand-finished surfaces, confident form and tactile craftsmanship. It is in excellent vintage condition: a wearable silver object designed to carry something personal, close to the body.
