This vintage early 1970s sterling silver pendant necklace presents an opal mosaic scene within a round, high-polish frame. Two birds sit among flowers, leaves and foliage, composed from small pieces of opal set against a black ground.

The opal mosaic shifts through turquoise, blue, green and violet as the pendant moves, bringing subtle variation to the miniature landscape. The simple circular silver frame leaves the inlay at the centre of the design.

Part of The Curator’s Cabinet, this piece was an early archive acquisition from the 1970s sample years. It belongs to a group of opal mosaic pendants that marked an early chapter in JewelAri’s relationship with opal.

The pendant is supplied ready to wear on an 18″ sterling silver curb chain. It is in excellent vintage condition.
